Friends of RCM,
Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and partnership with Roseland Christian Ministries. The following is a list of activities happening at Roseland Christian Ministries this summer:
- We finished work on a boarded-up house that we had purchased in February. The tenant is a single mom who has lived in Roseland her entire life. We, tenant and landlord, are equally blessed to have each other.
- We recently purchased two more houses on 102nd Place and State St. Work has begun and progress is underway.
- We’ve hired three local teenagers to work on houses with our construction manager, Dave Ten Clay. These three young men are learning homeownership skills as well as earning a small stipend for their summer work.
- Our Summer Day Camp is coming to a close after a great summer. Nearly 100 children were in attendance Monday through Friday for five weeks taking Bible, dance, drama, arts and crafts, and recreation classes.
- 500 partners in ministry have come to Roseland Christian Ministries from all over the country this summer to volunteer, fellowship, share, and worship with us.
- Our Sr. Citizens Club with 60 members has had a terrific summer with classes on personal safety, physical fitness, personal finances, as well as several outings to shopping malls and restaurants.
- 33 East Resale Shop (thrift store owned and operated by Roseland Christian Ministries) recently hired a new manager-Steve Turner. Steve is a long time resident of Roseland and someone we have confidence will do a great job as the store manager. To donate goods or volunteer time call Steve at (773)468-0262.
- We continue to be home to those without a home and a community of comfort and support for those in need of comfort, support, and community. We’re serving over 250 meals per day to men, women, and children. And we’re still home to 70 women and children who otherwise would have no home.
