THE STRONG TOWER
The Strong Tower, our women and children’s interim housing, was opened in October of 2001 when it became apparent that there was a greater need to provide housing for homeless mothers in the City of Chicago. RCM’s Strong Tower houses single mothers and their children year round in our main facility.
The Strong Tower Our clients come to us through a referral from the Chicago Department of Human Services. While staying with us, their needs will be addressed with our case manager. Some areas that are addressed include: education; employment training, placement and retention; housing placement; substance abuse detox and recovery treatments; mental health assessment and treatment; life skills training. RCM networks with many agencies across the Chicagoland area to help our residents connect with organizations useful in helping them become self-sufficient and move out of homelessness.
The Roseland area continues to be an area of high need with many homeless single moms, high unemployment and a high rate of crime. Giving a cup of cold water in this corner of God’s Kingdom is what our ministry is all about.
